Ame Ph.D. holds a doctorate in Tax Policy from the University of Pretoria. She has vast legal experience gained from both practice, corporate, legislative drafting, legal consulting and academia. She is admitted to practice as an Attorney in the Courts of Botswana. Ame has been with Modisane Law since inception.
She also holds a Master of Commerce in International Taxation from University of Cape Town, a Master of Law in International Trade and Investment Law from University of Western Cape, a Bachelor of Laws from University of Botswana, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Taxation from Botswana Accountancy College. She is a lecturer at the University of Botswana specialising in mercantile and commercial law courses such as tax law, company law, contract law and business law. She has also published peer-reviewed articles and academic monographs in these areas. Additionally, Ame has worked at the Attorney General’s Chambers and KPMG in Cape Town specifically in areas of tax, trade and international finance and investment.
Ame is a member of the Law Society of Botswana and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Botswana Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund and Board of Adjudicators in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development. She has consulted for international institutions, government entities and non-state actors on areas of tax law and policy, company law, international investment law as well as international trade law. Ame possesses a wealth of knowledge and expertise especially in the areas of tax and policy, investment law and company law.
